Psychology and psychiatry have their place in healing the mind, but they cannot achieve healing of our hearts. Counseling and self-help books are useful tools when learning to cope with deep wounds, but they do not heal the wound itself.
That wounded place in our heart needs to be made whole and holy through Jesus’ work on the cross.

Confessing sins to another and receiving prayer from them (James 5:16)
Taking thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Forgiving (Ephesians 4:32)
Bearing one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2)
Growing up in all things into Christ by speaking truth (Ephesians 4:15)
